Inspiration

How do you keep the inspiration to paint flowing ?

I paint, but I just can't come up with an idea for the next painting.

The subject usually jumps out at me and I know what to do, but its tricky this time, I know I have to be patient.

How do you remain inspired, where do you go and what do you do to get ideas ?

Just interested to see how others approach this subject.

RE: Inspiration

I use to paint, I would lose my inspiration temporarily , look through magazines and get an awesome idea once more.
Sadly I don't have the time I use to, but I try to do the things I love, get in a peaceful mood with classical music, a walk in the fields, and then I might get inspiration to created once more.
I think one of the tricks is to get out of the mode: I have to create.
and instead do the things you love, your inspiration mood is in a better position to spring back in that frame of mind.
good luck, would love to see your art.

RE: Inspiration

It comes and goes, always has, that's life. Sometimes the paint just flows off the brush and a painting makes itself. Other times it is so hard to force myself to work on it. I find it hard to create when I am stressed, which is often, or depressed. The creativity just isn't there. I can often find pics that inspire me by looking at magazines or local beautiful nature scenes or walking in the forest, etc. etc. but I have to relax and forget about pressures, in order to paint.
