Hello everyone. I enjoy reading the posts here so much, even if I have to look up some of McVay's words. J/k McVay.

I have so many quotes I love, but have read so many books about Picasso's life. One quote I love by him is,

"To blossom forth, a work of art must ignore or rather forget all the rules"..Pablo Picasso.

ahem

Life is pretty simple: You do some stuff. Most fails. Some works.
You do more of what works. If it works big, others quickly copy it.
Then you do something else. The trick is the doing something else.

A personal favorite of mine comes from none other than W.C. Fields.

[Nagging woman] Sir you're drunk!
[W.C.] Yes madam, and you're ugly! In the morning I'll be sober, and you'll still be ugly.

Cheers!

aura reminded me of my favorite Picasso quote. He once said that his mother had told him when he was a boy, "That if you want to be a soldier, you will become a Napoleon. If you want to be a priest, you will become the Pope. If you want to be an artist, you will become PICASSO!"
