I'm planning on moving to Europe, but not certain yet where to. I need recomendations or any information available about art schools (not necasserily academies) in Europe, which have programs in english.
Thanks.

Visit the library and do some research. READ about the schools and what they are like. And, talk to people who have been there. Use the internet to make connections to places and people. Do your homework, yourself.

Lynda

Sounds like you too have become exasperated with people who can apparently find their way to this forum, but can't do a web search otherwise. :>

Was this forum always this way? A lot of art appraisal requests and "homework" questions?

I suppose my contribution must be in the form of a new thread.

Ok, here's a stray thought. I see a lot of talk (especially because of Sept. 11 and it's anniversary) about "art healing". Can art REALLY heal? I'm an artist, but I'm wondering if the concept of art healing or changing the world is nothing more than a romantic idea. If art didn't do anything else but "be art" would we stop being artists? I say all this without the least bit of cynicism.

The University of East Anglia in Norwich, England has its own beautiful gallery and offers a full range of academic studies. It is stronger in art theory, than in fine and practical arts... but it's theory classes are fantastic and the instructors are intense. I studied museology and british history there for 6 months. I reccomend it to anyone interested in studying abroad.

The University of East Anglia doesn't do any practical art. In Norwich you would have to go to the Norwich School of Art, which is also quite good.

But you can find all British art courses listed on the UCAS website.

Lynda,

'Use the internet to make connections to places and people.'- Forgive me if i'm wrong but I think that just might have been what Yeila was trying to do when she posted her message in this forum..?

If you haven't got anything useful to say, don't say it atall yeah?
