| I am not into Art I know practically nothing. But I saw this either drawing or painting or picture (I told you I wasnt an Art guy) and it was like a hundred or so fat dots systematically placed evenly from one another throughout the canvas or paper. The dots were all the same color (I think blue) except for one lone dot that was a different color (red I think). If someone knows anything from the name of this piece of art, to the artist to where i can locate it in a book or on the internet my searches have come up empty. I turn to you all in hopes that someone else has seen what I am talking about. If nothing else can anyone tell me the style of art that I have described? Thanks |

This might be a work by Damien Hirst, who has done some pictures composed entirely of coloured dots. As to the style of art, I suppose you would call it 'Abstract', since it is not trying to represent any object which you could recognize, but is using colours and shapes for their own sake, as a means of expression. You could call Hirst's dot paintings 'Decorative' too, I think. Anyway, they are there for us to enjoy - the sheer pleasure of patterns, colours and forms. You can find websites with images and information about Hirst. Best wishes |
