TV forums

Sherwood's message about 24 inspired me to ask if any of you belong to TV forums. I've been looking for a general one --- not show specific. Can anyone help?

RE: TV forums

Nope, nearest I know is Television Without Pity which covers lots of shows, but breaks everything up by show.

 o
RE: TV forums

Maybe we can start a sub-topic here for TV Forums. I don't object since many Movies translate from or into TV shows anyway.

 o
RE: TV forums

Sounds good Minnie! (even though I don't watch much TV) Anyone else? Viewers could start their Subject of Posting with 'TV FORUM' - Who's watching 'whatever'

 o
RE: TV forums

Good idea paula, I have a feeling it will be popular.

RE: TV forums

Thanks Minnie, Paula and Bill. I was kind of hesitant to introduce TV into a movie forum. I'm really new to this forum thing, although I'm quickly learning how addictive it can be. I watch lots of TV in the evenings. I often watch one show and TiVo another show or a movie. I always find time each day to read and watch movies on the weekends, usually with my college kids.

Enough of that. Since I started this thing, here's what I watch:
All three CSI's
NCIS
House
All Law and Order's except the new one, Trial by Jury
Lost
Survivor
Medical Investigation
24
I keep thinking I'll watch Oprah, but I always forget. Also watch the news either at 5:00 or 11:00. Occasionally National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery,.....

RE: TV forums

Good idea, beth. Don't you have to run this by the webmaster, though? Just asking...

 o
RE: TV forums

Thanks, Clairabelle. I'm not at all savvy when it comes to discussion boards. Who is the webmaster and how do I get in touch with him/her?

 o
RE: TV forums

A lot of changes have been going on with the Garden Web forums and I guess this is a part of it. I think you have to go to the Suggestions and Comments forum and use that link now to email Spike. (I think)

 o
RE: TV forums

Beth, I think we watch the exact same shows! Spike is the webmaster and he can be found at the bottom of the page listing all the threads by clicking "Mail."

 o
RE: TV forums

WooHoo, Chris. I'm on my way.

 o
RE: TV forums

It's not that much of a stretch to request the forum be renamed to "Movies and TV @ Glyphs"

but, it should be done in the 'Suggestions & Comments' (the proper channel I believe), and we can all support it ala petition style, by posting additional supports on Beth's thread.

Here is a link that might be useful: suggestions and comments forum

RE: TV forums

Thank you Chris and Paula. I do appreciate your help and support!

I have posted on the "suggestions and comments" forum and also emailed Spike (I think). Stay tuned.

RE: TV forums

paula's right, beth. Spike is going to respond to your email by telling you to float the idea over in the "Suggestion & Comments Forum." Like said above, we'll all support the idea by responding to your post with more pleas. Additionally, I read somewhere (don't remember where) that this forum is for the specific discussion of movies and not television shows. I hate that because I like yours and the other's idea of expanding our discussions into TV topics. Let's hope we'll have luck with this.

Incidentally, does everyone know Spike sold GardenWeb to IVillage? He says he is now their employee. Still our webmaster though.

RE: TV forums

I posted in the "suggestions and comments forum." How do we know if it's acceptable to add TV and change our name?

 o
RE: TV forums

Finally able to log in this morning... here's where to add to Beth's request -

Here is a link that might be useful: requesting forum name change

 o
RE: TV forums

It was pretty miserable trying to get logged on last night. I see things are "back to normal" today.

 o
RE: TV forums

Thank you for the link, Paula. I wouldn't have known where to go otherwise!
I don't watch much tv, but there are some excellent shows on right now which are always watched in my household (CSI, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Desperate Housewives).
By finding people who have similar interests & tastes, I can get recommendations for new series before they come over to the UK - after all, I only got into Buffy because an American penpal (from the GardenWeb) raved about it! I have a feeling I should have watched 'Lost', but you can't try everything new or you'd never get out of the house anymore!

www.able2know.com has a tv section.
