While I have seen most of the L&H films, there are one or two that I have not seen, and I may very well watch them, if they are on at a time that is convenient for me. On a different note, Oliver Hardy made a number of sound films without Stan Laurel, such as "The Fighting Kentuckian" w/ John Wayne and "Zenobia" w/ Harry Langdon. Has anybody seen those? I actually find those as interesting to watch, as the better known films he made with Laurel.

I grew up with Laurel and Hardy but didn't know about Hardy's other films. I've seen The Fighting Kentuckian, but not for years and years. Guess I'll have to put these in my Netflix queue.

There were 2 unfortunate situations that limited the opportunity for L&H to give us more of their genius. 1. by the time they started in non-silent films they were already middle age and though they had great performances in the movies of the '30's , their age and health caught up with them and so the movies of the '40's were not that good. 2. Stan was a very creative writer but was limited in what he was allowed to include in the scripts.. typical for studios of that time which 'owned' the actors... However, you will really enjoy what TMC presnts on Friday.. you will be smiling and thinking about the beautiful songs and themes long after the movies are over.
