| I like kwoods' suggestion of a quickie game. You provide a movie quote and whoever identifies the movie gets to go next.
So ....... let's get this thing on the road....
Quote : "It's wafer thin ......." (With a French accent) |

| Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.... how bout "I love you" "I know" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Ah, that's one of my favourite loving exchanges... between Han Solo and Princess Leia, in The Empire Strikes Back (at least I think that's the first occurrence). How about the one I asked in the other thread: "We aim to misbehave!" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| No takers? It's a recent movie by one of my heroes. I have the t-shirt that says "[name of said hero] is my master now", in StarWars style writing... |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Is it from the movie "Serenity"?! |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Is indeed! Joss Whedon is my master now |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Ok, this one's easy ..... (I may not have the EXACT quote ....) "I don't know nothin' about birthin' babies!" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Easy is right: Gone wth the Wind Here's one: "This is information retrieval not information dispersal." |
RE: Quote game!

RE: Quote game!

| Yeah!! Brazil! I knew it sounded familiar! I think it was said in the main character's office! |

| Godfather II "Barbara... they're coming to get you Barbara" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Beetlejuice ? lol,I don't know |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Ooops! forgot about this one. When my wife gets unneccesarily frightened I always give her the "They're coming to get you Barbara..." line. She doesn't seem to appreciate it in the same way that I do. Another from the same film; "Are they slow-moving, chief?" "Yeah, they're dead. They're..... all messed up. " |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Oh, oh, oh - must be a Zombie movie - is it 'Night of the Living Dead'? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Heeeeeeere's Johnnie, out of Night of the Living Dead! Howzabout: ...is brought to you by XXX and XXX, high energy vegetable concentrates, and new, delicious, XXX. The miracle food of high-energy plankton gathered from the oceans of the world! |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Within a minute of one another! Youse gots it! Now do rock, paper, scissors to see which of youse is the winner. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Clairabelle, that sounds like Soylent Green to me... How about... "I am asking you to marry me, you little fool!" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Sounds like Laurence Olivier in Rebecca ? |
Rebecca indeed
| | |
| That's the one - not very charming... |
RE: Quote game!!
| | |
| "Have fun storming the castle!" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Princess Bride! "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries." |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Oft-quoted in this household - the French taunting the English k-nights in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Here's another one that's frequently trotted out by Mr Husband: "it didn't hurt me; it hit me on the head." [Not sure if the 2x "it" is actually audible!] |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| What, no takers? Here's another one from the same movie: "Amelia, if I walk any further, I'll get flat feet." - "Abigail, we were born with flat feet." |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Mmh. Looks like I made this too obscure! Would it help if I told you that "didn't hurt me; it hit me on the head" is spoken by a dog, whereas the little dialogue is between two geese? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Hmmm........ sounds almost like Dr. Doolittle! (Haven't seen the movie but with talking dogs and geese ...) |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Not Dr Doolittle - think Disney... |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Not that Rodney Dangerfield movie where he's a dog?!?! |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Think animated Disney! Think Abraham DeLacey Giuseppe Casey Thomas O'Malley... |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Two Disney animated dog movies come immediately to mind..... I'll go with Lady and the Tramp? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| It's not a dog movie... but it does feature a lady and a tramp. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| I give up. It's Aristocats. My husband's allegedly favourite movie. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Hmmmm....... Ok, so that's the movie. I kept trying to think of classic Disney animated features and, for some weird reason, I kept thinking of Robin Hood (where Robin and Marian are foxes). |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| I don't even like Disney... but Mr Hub quotes that line so frequently (usually with reference to our accident-prone greyhound) that I thought it was generally well-known! |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Can you offer a clue kwoods? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Ok, that "mook" quote SOUNDS familiar! Gimme some time and I might remember what it's from! Wait -- it's not from "My Cousin Vinny", is it? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Sorry... been away. bwilliams5980 has it! |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| I think it was a geek before there were geeks |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| "Well, what is a mook?" Gotta watch Mean Streets to find out. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Oh no, I watched it once years ago. Quite enough, thanks. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Sorry, sorry!! Didn't mean to kill (or even slow down) the thread. I had just posted "Mean Streets" then my computer crashed. Just got it up again after a harrowing week! lol Next quote: "You'll shoot your eye out!" Easy one - so first to get it just go ahead with the next quote - I don't know about the reliability of my connection yet. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| A Christmas Story! With Ralphie! Ok, here's one : "Fish are friends, not food" (said with a toothy grin) |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| A shark in rehab in Finding Nemo?? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Bada-bing! And clairabelle gets the prize! ;-) Your turn. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
Here's an easy one "We're going to need bigger buns" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| I have no idea - somebody guess, please? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Wait -- that rings a bell .... "Calendar Girls"? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Here's another immortal quote : "I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to f$&%#@ amuse you?" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| I have the actor who says it (Joe Pesci) but can't for the life of me remember which movie... Could it be one of the Mel Gibson/Danny Glover Lethal Weapon movies? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| How about My Cousin Vinny? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Good Fellas.... I always feel bad for Spider when I hear that quote. How 'bout "you ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?" |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| "you ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?" Asked of a hoodlum by Popeye (Gene Hackman) in The French Connection..... anyone got a good quote? |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Here's one ......... Yippee-ki-yay, mother%$%*@. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Time to revive this! That last quote sounds very Bruce Willis, so I'll go for 'Die Hard'. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Yep -- anyanka's got it right! Your turn, m'dear ........ |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| We might be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us. |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Why that's from the game show host in Magnolia (I think). Can't remember the actor, unfortunately... |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Magnolia is correct and quite enough as an answer! I think the quote occurs several times though, and not just by the one actor (but I might be wrong). |
RE: Quote game!
| | |
| Right then, I give up my turn (back to work so in and out of the forum this week) |
