Movie stills

Does anyone know a way to print stills from movie DVDs you play on your computer? I would like to examine set or costume details in movies sometimes. If I could stop a frame and print it, that would be perfect.

Computer-made stills of film are called "screen captures". Here is a link to programs of this type for you to download-click on each name to see user ratings and which ones are free:

Thanks, Spamlet. I'll give one of them a try.

I used to photograph my TV screen with a camera with no flash. The pictures came out pretty good.

It looks like I'm going to have to go with Jannie's method. Thank you, Jannie.

I read up on screen capture, and learned that to screen capture from a DVD, I have to set Hardware Acceleration to None under my Control Panel. Alas, when I did that, my DVD player software (InterActual) would not function.

What I wanted to capture were several interior scenes of Rivendell from the first LotR movie that I have not seen reproduced anywhere.
