| Spamlet, I agree with you about Le Divorce - a perfect word for it. Le Mess! Le disappointement!
Since no one is going, I'll take the lead.
1) money

| Happy Monday everyone! Ah, I love stumping you guys! OK, so we've got: 1) money 2) soap company 3) swindle ok, THIS should hopefully give it away! 4) Riviera |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Got me. The only Riviera movie I can think of is To Catch A Thief ?! |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Yes, I think Paula's got it. When I saw the soap company clue, I knew I had seen a movie where a soap company was (kind of) involved. Of course I couldn't remember the movie! But now that Paula's said it, I think that's it. Of course I could be completely wrong ....... ;-) |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
I don't remember a soap company in 'To Catch a Thief', so I'll put in a quick guess at 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' (don't remember any soap in there either, but hey...) |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Grace Kelly's father was in logging I believe, so I don't think soap company fits in, unless I missed something ! ;-p |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Hmmmm...... I thought Cary Grant was using as a cover a soap company salesman? For 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels', wasn't their mark a soap company heiress? |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| I thought Cary Grant was a wine merchant - not as a cover, but after retiring from cat burgling. Long time since I've seen it last, though. I'll stick with my guess of DRS ;-) Moongirl, where are you?! |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| She's probably watching the World Cup .......... I know I wish I was ....... ;-) |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Sorry, and yes I watched part of the World Cup and had to see USA lose! Anyanka has it with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels! If you remember, Janet's last name was Colgate - and they thought she was the heiress of the soap company. Obviously Riviera, money and swindle are self-explanatory! Anyanka you're up! |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Thank you! I keep forgetting the world cup is on... not my thing... I do know Wimbledon is on because it's raining at last!!! Here goes: # 1 - Seduction |

RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Hey! That's essentially the same movie as 'Dangerous Liaisons'! ;-) (But I think Valmont was the better flick) |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Way too easy, obviously - Paula got it in one, and so did Sherwood (Pat?), albeit a touch too late. I don't actually have one favourite film, but if pushed, The Graduate is the one I usually vote for. |

| Nope. Ok we've got 1) retail store - let me change that to more specifically, department store 2) skating rink - that would be ice skating 3) glove and I now add 4) Fate |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| The Bishop's Wife? I can't remember a retail store, but then it is many many years since I've seen it. |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
anyanka Maybe when she bought the hat? but I don't remember a glove |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| I thought there was a dropped-glove-incident on the ice, but I may be thinking of a different movie. It must be over 20 years since I saw it. |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Wow, I really cannot believe you guys aren't getting this. I'm running out of clues! OK, try 5) phone number on a piece of paper (I will also hint that it's a more recent movie - and if you're LUCKY you'll get it (wink, wink)) |

| Howdy. Ok, I think I have officially stumped you guys. I'm kinda sad about it! I thought you would get it by now. Let me see if I can help with more details. If you still don't get it I'll give it to you. 1) department store 2) ice skating 3) glove 4) testing Fate 5) phone number on a piece of paper that gets blown away in a gust of wind 6) other fiances after many years 7) LUCK!!!!! 8) this is a Date Movie that came out just a few years ago |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Sorry ....... I don't do date movies. I am, therefore, quite stumped. ;-) |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Moongirl, you're drivin' me crazy...;-D The Family Man ?? |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Doggone it! I feel so bad that you guys aren't getting this. SERENDIPITY!!!!! Someone else wanna have a go at it? I think I'm banned by you guys! |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| It's easy to stump me with any recent romantic movie - actually, any really recent movie, come to that. We're so busy catching up with the classics on DVD that I like to apply the test of time to newer films: if it's still talked about two years later, I'll rent it... May I have another go, seeing as I gave you such a damnably easy one last time? Here goes: Clue #1 Auction |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Moongirl you did it AGAIN! :-D Out of Africa |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| I just could not for the life of me figure out why John Cusack kept popping into my head... Dang! I didn't even seen the movie but the trailers were on alot. Good on you, moongirl! The Red Violin ? |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
RE: Clue Game #74 - resumed once more
| | |
| Sorry everyone! It's always fun stumping you at first but then I felt your frustration and I felt so bad. I just have to tell you, this game reminds me of a game we used play on long car trips, when I was young. My father made it up. He called it "Stump The Daddy." He would ask a question (usually something educational, like history or geography, etc.) and me and my brother and sister would have the chance to answer the right answer. If we got it wrong, he would go again until we got it right. Then whoever got the answer right had the chance to stump HIM. Year after year after year we played it, gosh, until we were too old for car trips. We still talk about it, it's a long running joke and one of the most beloved memories in my family! Phantom of the Opera? |
