It's October -- what are you watching?

I just saw "Amelia" and liked it very much. I've long been fascinated by the mystery of her disappearance in 1937 in the far Pacific. Earhart had an independence and a courage far ahead of her time, which I admire. I found it interesting how much Hillary Swank ressembled the actual Amelia physically....

How was Hillary's performance? Oscar worthy.. as her previous roles...Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don't Cry...?

I just watched No Such Thing,(2001) a satire focusing on sensational journalism, with Helen Mirren, Julie Christie, and icelandic cast. Interesting storyline , especially the commentary on how the public has a flea attention span. And how something will horrify one day, and will become boring news within literally hours.

I think the one movie I'm looking forward to seeing in the theatre is The Lovely Bones, especially since the elementary school scenes were filmed less than 10 miles from my house.

"I think the one movie I'm looking forward to seeing in the theatre is The Lovely Bones"

Not sure I can see this one. The book is still creeping me out however many years later.

Can't wait to see Shutter Island, from one of my favorite Dennis Lehane thrillers!

And... I've yet to see the new Star Trek movie which is on my MUSTSEE list.

The Lovely Bones is one I will definitely skip. I hated the book and could hardly finish it.

When is Shutter Island coming out?

Before Xmas I think. The trailers on now on tv and IMDB has it "coming soon"...

I realise I am over 10 years late but the other day I watched for the first time on TV The Truman Show and really need to see it again to appreciate the 'cleverness' of the plot/situation especially given the plethora of reality TV shows we now get on UK TV.
Do any of you remember enjoying it?

Oh yes! Actually watched it again last week (for the umpteenth time). I remember thinking how refreshing it was to see Jim Carrey do a serious character.
