X-Files - suitable for what age?

Hi all, I'd like some advice... We've been renting the X-Files on DVD, have just finished season 1, and are about to start season 2. I didn't see them in correct sequence first time round on tv, and missed lots (probably), so I don't remember what happens in which season.
However, while season 1 was rated 15, the entire season 2 is rated 18, and we're watching them with our daughters (13 and 15). Can anyone shed a light on that without too many spoilers? I started checking the X-Files episode guide, but it mars my enjoyment. I'm not concerned about bad language - they hear worse at school than ever on tv! - nor nudity, but excessive violence and especially violence with sexual connotations would concern me... |

| I don't recall seeing any sexual content/nudity in the entire series (except maybe a little kiss). They stayed away from that storyline. However, as u noticed in season 1, there are SOME scary, weird images and characters, so parental presence is suggested, imho. 14 and up, I'd say. |

| Thanks, Clairabelle. My girls can cope with the weirdness and scariness (we do watch 'en famille', and the younger one is quite mature and nearly 14 anyway) - I just wonder whether season two is really a whole certificate scarier and weirder than season one. I guess we'll find out... |

| There's a few more bizarre situations in season 2, but I don't remember anything overly violent or unsuitable for teenagers. It was a great season and ends with the famous 3 part Navaho episodes which will force you to go out and get at least the first episode of season 3. There's a lot of good gotcha's in season 2, my personal favorite. |

| Thank you! We have just got started on disc 1... I don't remember the Navaho episodes, looking forward to finding out! I figure that as long as we watch together, they'll be fine. |

| I think x files are suitable after 25 of age. |
