| Brief Encounter! Sorry, I meant to put that in. Blame the 100F heat for making me stupid! |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
| Annpan it was 20F here this morning! For those of you in Canada/US who never saw 'Brief Encounter' pick up a DVD and a big box of tissues, stiffen your upper lips and be carried back to 1940's England. Annpan, it's your go. |

Welcome to the game, annpan!:D I didn't know about this one, veer, but the plot is familiar. Were there any remakes done since then? |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
| clairable, the film was made from a short play by Noel Coward. The only 'remake' I know of was a spoof by UK comedienne Victoria Wood, (are you familar with her on you rside of the Pond? Very clever and funny) Clip below |

I hope I play this game correctly! Incidentally, Vee, we have just had my G-G-child's 1st. birthday party in 100F, so all kids in the pool, parents 'lifeguarding' in the shade, rehydrating of course ;-) (1) Gangster actor in a diabolical comedy. |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
| As for playing the game correctly, so far so good annpan. The only restrictions in this game are that you cannot use a word from the title in the clue and you cannot use any of the characters' names. One guess per clue. Well, the word 'diabolical' has me stumped... for now :D |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
| Should I give another clue now or wait for another player to have a guess? |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
| Annpan is ift "A Slight Case of Murder"? not sure if the diabolical fits in |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
annpan, you can give up to 5 clues, then either you give the answer or you pass on to someone else. Usually we like to see a couple of guesses before the next clue, depending on how fast it goes. Sometimes we guess right off at the first clue, and other times it can take days before the answer comes through. Now minnie has added a guess, so you can either wait a bit or provide the next clue. Your choice. As for moi, I'm still wondering if it's with James Cagney or George Raft lol Carry on! :) |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
| Wrong guesses so far! (2) Co-starring an Italian "sex-pot" |
RE: Clue Game #101

Still no idea on my part, although Sophia Loren comes to mind... I invite you to repeat the previous clue to keep your clues together, it helps us old foggies to remember lol |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
| (1) Gangster actor in a diabolical comedy (2) Co-starring an Italian "sex-pot" (3) Also an American actress, you'll need to keep up with her. (Big clue there!) |

Yes! Thank goodness someone got it. My final clue was to be "Has this title got you tired?" A funny story about this film. I was around 17 when it came to our local cinema and took my younger sister. We were in an almost empty house but were enjoying the humour when man sitting near us asked why we were laughing. "At the film" I explained "It's a comedy" He said angrily "It's Humphrey Bogart" and complained to the manager who was patrolling the aisle. He must have confirmed that although it starred the actor who usually played gangster roles, this was indeed a comedy! |
RE: Clue Game #101
| | |
| That's genius! Don't you dare laugh at Bogie. This is one of my favorite movies: 1. Kid in trouble |

| Gun Crazy 1950 "Since he was a child, Bart Tare has always loved guns. After leaving the army, his friends take him to a carnival, where he meets the perfect girl, Annie, a sharp-shooting sideshow performer who loves guns as much as he. The two run off and marry, but Annie isn't happy with their financial situation, so at her behest the couple begins a crosscountry string of daring robberies. Never one to use guns for killing, Bart is dragged down into oblivion by the greedy and violent nature of the woman he loves." |
