It is reported that Bob Dylan is entering the studio this week to begin work on his new album, the follow-up to 2001's 'Love & Theft'.

NME.com, quoting New York paper The Poughkeepsie Journal, reports that Dylan and five unnamed musicians rehearsed last week from 31 January to 3 February at the Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie.

The venue's executive director, Chris Silva, said that Dylan rehearsed for four to five hours each day without a break and the singer indicated he would enter the studio in Manhattan this week.

Dylan's newest song, 'Tell Ol' Bill', appears on the soundtrack to the new Oscar-nominated Charlize Theron film 'North Country'.

Sorry, rj, but I have to do this. I can't control myself.

Who remembers this famous movie line: "Do you pick your
toes in Poughkeepsie?".

I never picked my feet in Poughkeepsie, I swear I didn't!

Jack, it's from the movie The French Connection. For those who are relatively unfamiliar with that part of the world (like me) it may be the only context in which we have heard the place name "Poughkeepsie."

I'll be interested to hear what Dylan records next and which musicians are backing him up.

Here's an article from the local paper about Dylan's sessions at the Bardavon.

If it doesn't show below, here's the link

And I've been to Woodstock and Poughkeepsie. Big difference!
