My first real DJ job

| I get to be in charge of the music at my brother's high school graduation party! This will be the first time I get to do something like this. I was put in charge of it because of the large collection of music I have. I went through my music and picked out some of the best songs I had. I tried to pick stuff that will not be to heavy for some of the older people who will be there. I realize some of them are misspelled. Let me know what you think!

Still can't complain. "Sit Yourself Down" and "Radioactive"
are good choices. Like to hear "Blue Collar" by BTO,
"Rock & Roll Music To The World" by Ten Years After,
"Stealin'" by Uriah Heap and "Be My Lover" by Alice Cooper. If this is an indication of your taste in rock, you've got
to check out the first two J. Geils discs, "The J. Geils
Band" and "The Morning After". By the way, if this party
is in the Chicago area, I'm free that day! |

| lerue, I'm sure that they won't mind Classic Rock all day, there will mostly be people there who grew up in that time period. My parents know I listen to this kind of music, so thats why I was put in charge of it. Thanks for recommending those songs quick85! I've heard "Stealin'", but hadn't heard "Blue Collar" "Rock & Roll Music To The World" and "Be My Lover" until now. If anybody wants me to post my whole collection let me know. It's kind of long though, I believe over 1500+ songs. |

| Well the party went GREAT! I didn't realize they had a PA system there with speakers on the walls and ceilings, so once I figured how to hook into that the music sounded great. I was busy for most of the party helping prepare the chickens, hamburgers, and hot dogs, but my Mom said that people kept commenting on the music. She said somebody even asked "What station is this!?" because they liked it so much. I felt very proud of myself. I felt like I was useful. My Dad and his brother brought their guitars and played in another room and that was the highlight of the party. You can't go wrong when they play Unknown Legend, Powder Finger, Keep On Rockin' In The Free World, and Harvest Moon from Neil Young and Heard It In A Love Song from the Marshall Tucker Band. |

Rufus, very cool. Everyone hears or plays Charlie Daniels,
Skynrd, The Allmans, even Molly Hatchet. It's Like Marshall
Tucker is some sort of lost band along with Wet Willie. I
stuck with Tucker thru the first five albums and they seemed
to drop off the face of the earth. I was really impressed
with Toy & Tommy Caldwell and Doug Gray, actually, the whole
band. You've got later stuff that I never heard, I'd love a
copy. It's good to see "Windy City Blues" and "A New Life"
on that list. |
