Theme Songs from Movies

Hi, I looked but I couldn't find if anybody else has posted this subject before, so I will give it a try.

Anybody have any favorite theme songs? Has anybody seen the movie from 1999 called Wing Commander? The theme song for that movie is awesome. The movie is very good, also.

Goldfinger - Shirley Bassey
Live And Let Die - Paul McCartney
The Man With The Golden Arm
Overture from "Grand Prix" - starring James Garner
Moonglow/Theme From "Picnic" - w/Wm. Holden & Kim Novak
And many others that don't come to mind right now.

I've recently started to pick up and appreciate the
soundtracks of the great movie musicals like South Pacific,
Oklahoma, West Side Story, Damn Yankees and Guys and Dolls.
With the exception of Easy Rider and Casino, I am not a fan
of just taking pop, rock or rap songs from radio and calling
it a soundtrack, even though it's good to hear particular
songs. That's just another compilation disc. The movie
experience is enhanced with appropriate background music.

I LOVE the song "In The Deep" by Bird York. It was in the movie "Crash" starring Don Cheadle and Sandra Bullock, which was a good movie. Bird York played a small part in that movie too. I never heard that song before until I saw the movie. Now I'm going to get the CD.

My favourite music/movie combo is 'Magnolia' - a bit unusual in that the script was written around Aimee Mann's songs, specifically 'Deathly' which inspired the central character of Claudia.

Another favourite is 'The Graduate', which has a perfect soundtrack.

For a proper theme toon, how about Nielson's 'Everybody's Talking At Me' from 'Midnight Cowboy'.

No one could have done a better job than Harry Nillson on
"Everybody's Talking". I also have it by Fred Neil, who
wrote it: good but not good enough. For a version that'll
have you shaking your head in disbelief, you have to hear it
by the Templeton Twins (jobird, this is where you come in).
Sort of a Rudy Vallee / "Winchester Cathedral" kind of
thing.

Holy Moly! Just got back from a couple of websites about
the Templeton Twins. I thought "Everybody' Talking" was
a one shot deal. But no, these lunatics have had their
way with all sorts of 60's/70's music. Try to check them
out.
