I was never into Blondie back when they were popular but after listening to a co-worker's "Blondie's Greatest Hits" cd a few years ago I realized how many good songs they recorded. I'm finding that out about many 70's and 80's bands I ignored back then.

Perhaps, if you have not gotten into them already, you may want to listen to a lot of different albums by Strawbs, Nektar, Camel, Barclay James Harvest, Horslips, etc. It always surprises me that so many people ask me to make compilations of the above artists once they actually sit down and listen to them with me. So many others too. Ric |

Wow. I can't believe she's 60. I have that Greatest Hits CD too and it's pretty good. That's about as much as I got into their music, though. I always thought she was so sultry and had an awesome voice. After they recently made a comeback I was amazed that she was still alive and looking so good after years of heroin abuse.

In her younger days she was an incredibly beautiful women, who sang quite well in my opinion.I remember the release of the autoamerican lp,it was very sucessful. You could not go anywhere without hearing the tide is high and rapture, from that lp.I liked blondie. They had afew decent lps.I always really liked heart of glass which i thought was their best song. One way or another was a good song too.

I know this thread is old but I just check in here from time to time. Just in my opinion she was the most beautiful woman ever to come out of rock and roll. I believe she was adopted as a baby, beautiful eyes and lips, great pout. Even more than Blondie's recorded stuff, I think their strength was in their raw energy live performances at small clubs like CBGB's with Debbie as the visual centerpiece. I happened to catch her over the years in some B movies, Videodrome, Tales From the Crypt, etc. I've also seen how she looks now, older and slightly heavier, but to me she is just as beautiful and even more sexy, due to her life experiences. A young girl is just a young girl, but true beauty shows itself only with age.

Well, maybe true beauty only shows itself after cosmetic surgery... But she does have excellent bone structure, I'll give her that.
