Foghat and Cream are two good choices. A few more recent ones to check out: Nick Curran & the Nitelifes - "Dr. Velvet" Jake Andrews - "Time To Burn" Sean Costello & His Jivebombers - "Call The Cops" Can't forget the first two J. Geils records: "The J. Geils Band" and "The Morning After" |

| New is a relatively loaded term. A five or six year old band who stil does not have the proper following (in my opinion) can still be considered new. I am talking about 'My Morning Jacket'. A little rock, a little country rock, and some Hawaii Five-O type sampling to boot! What's not to love! For an older band worth hearing - or re-visiting - you can't go wrong with Strawbs (the double CD retrospective "Halcyon Days" is a must for any collection). Ric |

| Check out Jim Hoke on www.jimhokemusic.com. You've likely heard him as a side man on many another musician's cuts. Outstanding instrumentalist. Follow the links on this website and see if you don't find some really fresh music. JIMBO |

| AC Newman --the link is too a relatively slow song, but most songs are faster and just really, really good pop songs. RIC THE G! Speaking of My Morning Jacket, did you hear the ep Jim James (aka Yim Yames) did of George Harrison songs? He did a fabulous job on Long, Long, Long, which I thought was kind of tired sounding on the Beatles record. This guy does a lovely job with it. I don't have a link, but if you surf around and find it, it's worth a listen. I have to hit repeat every time I hear it. |
