Les Paul dead at age 94

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Les Paul, the guitarist and inventor who changed the course of music with the electric guitar and multitrack recording and had a string of hits, many with wife Mary Ford, died on Thursday. He was 94.

RIP Les.

Back when I tried to learn how to play the guitar, I had a Les Paul. I don't know how to post a photo so I'll take a shot here.

JDBillup's axe.

I went in to see him a few times. Once at the Blue Note and several times at his Monday night Iridium shows with a friend of mine who was/is a telecaster virtuoso. Very glad that he dragged me along.

Les Paul was fascinating to watch and had his very own completely clean style. He was an original one of a kind innovator.

These forums you just use html so to post an image you would code < img src="http://www.janbrittenowen.com/gear/393713_lespaul.jpg" > . Just take out the spaces before and after the open and close ><. Use the img src tag then put your image referrer in quotes. The above code gives you the image below.

Les Paul will live on forever through the technology he innovated.
