Pain of Salvation

Another find made via pandora.com. Does anyone know more about this band (that can't be gleaned from a Google search)? I heard something from Be and liked it. I see them described as "progressive metal." What I've heard so far doesn't have those annoying metal monster style vocals. Actually, reminds me quite a bit of Peter Hammill (of Van der Graaf Generator fame/obscurity), but better.

(Yes, I'm definitely doing a little more rock music these days, though I would say Afro-Latin music still feels like the center of my musical universe for the present. Also, I just ordered four new/ish Arabic CDs.)

Here is a link that might be useful: myspace page

Pain of Salvation is definitely a prog-metal band, in the vein of Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Shadow Gallery, etc. Most prog-metal doesn't have the cookie-monster vocals, and usually features real singing! I saw Pain of Salvation live several years back at the Progday festival in NC. They put on a great show.
