Looking to buy an MP3 and start downloading, need suggestions,

Since prices have come down so much on MP3 players, I really hope to get one soon. For me, I want something I can use through my car stereo. I 'd like suggestions on players and also a good music downloading website. There's so many out there. My taste in music is pretty eclectic so I want to be sure it's got enough to choose from.
Any suggestions?

I'm not going to recommend an MP3 player since there are so many acceptable models - just buy it from circuitcity.com or bestbuy.com and you can't go wrong. As far as sites that offer music downloads - either illegally for free, or legally for roughly .69 to .99 per song, let me offer an additional resource. You're PC. Most people today have PC's that will allow them to burn songs to their hard drive - and then transfer them to an MP3 player. That way you can put your existing music collection onto your MP3 palyer as well as discs you borrow from the library or from your friends. Totally free. Obviously some tunes you will have to go to a pay service if you want them, but some of the best music is not available on these sites. Good luck.

I have a couple of Creative Zen mp3 players. I use them at work with little speakers I bought just for this purpose. I also can use them in one of our vehicles. We got a new car cd player and luckily, it had a place to connect the player.

As for music, I am a subscriber to emusic.com and have been for several years. You won't find the big popular stars there, but I have found the best music I ever experienced in my life there, from the indy labels and artists. I wasn't much for music, only buying a few new cds a year before I discovered this site. I sample the songs and albums, read the reviews, go to Amazon to read their review, and then choose my monthly downloads. I burn cds of the downloaded albums and have many emu favorites cds. We even got a printer that puts the labels right on the cd.

Now, I download 65 songs a month, and it isn't enough! I have gotten to branch out to various kinds of music I never heard before--Irish folk, African music, reggae, electronic downtempo, and there's lots of rock and pop there, too. I don't like the mainstream artists so this was a revolutionary find for me. Lots of oldies there too.
