I sure do ramblingjack,i have the lp that includes their fine version of summertime blues. Its a good lp,and they were a good live band. They played with power and put on a good show,at least from what i saw in videos, they played well.I dont know how many lps they released, perhaps ric or rd would know.I know that they were not particularly prolific, and the critics often seemed to bash them.
Of course the original version of summertime blues was done by eddie cochrine, who was a great talent that was killed early in his career in an auto accident.I believe the who did a good cover version too?
One of my buddies worked at a web-page design company a few years back that also employed original ex-Blue Cheer guitarist, Leigh Stevens. I don't know the story of Leigh's departure from the group in '69, but he obviously had mixed feeling about his involvement. His main observation about his time in the band was "I don't know what we were thinking". He now apparently prefers to play guitar in a more disciplined manner... Mike
Ive worn my hair well past my shoulders from time to time over the years, but the thing i remember about these guys most was their hair.I remember seeing a video of them performing, and my recollection is that all three members had grown their hair almost down to waist level.Thats my strongest memory of them, not their music.Perhaps their hair was not quite as long as i seem to remember it to be though.
